Drug Endangered Children (DEC) Training
This training will look at overcoming the challenges in aligning the agencies and systems responsible for preventing,
intervening, and treating issues related to drug endangered children. This training will focus on how to implement the DEC
approach, which has been proven to be effective in increasing the chances of better outcomes for drug endangered children
and breaking multi-generational cycles of abuse and neglect. Insights about how various professionals are in a position to
identify, protect, and serve drug endangered children and their families will be provided.

Drug endangered children are children who are at risk of suffering physical or emotional harm as a result of illegal drug use,
possession, manufacturing, cultivation, or distribution. They may also be children whose caretaker's substance misuse
interferes with the caretaker's ability to parent and provide a safe and nurturing environment.

Those who should attend are: law enforcement, child welfare, medical, educational staff, service providers, childcare workers,
and others that may have contact with or be able to help children and their families.
